Ken is the CISO for Frontline Education, leading the security function and strategy across all of Frontline’s products and operations. Frontline Education is a SaaS provider of integrated human resource, administration and data insight products serving more than 12,000 Educational Organizations and millions of educators, administrators and support personnel in their efforts to develop the next generation of learners. Ken established the company’s first security and privacy program based on NIST’s Cybersecurity Framework and federal/state privacy regulatory requirements. Ken is responsible for implementing and managing processes for incident response and orchestration, risk assessment and financial planning, identity and access management, security/privacy awareness and training, secure product development/DevOps, security analytics/monitoring, end-point/network protection, vulnerability management, AWS security, BYOD security and privacy requirement consulting. He successfully completed the company's first SOC 2 certification.
Ken has 20 years of leadership in designing, developing, implementing, and administering security programs. Prior to Frontline Education, Ken spent time in senior consulting roles with KPMG, IBM and Deloitte. He also was a Senior Executive with Comcast where he was responsible for PCI DSS compliance, various security and privacy initiatives and program risk management.
Ken has an undergraduate degree in Accounting form the University of Maryland, College Park and a Masters in Management of IT from the University of Virginia. Ken’s professional certifications include: Certified Information System Security Professional with Information Systems Security Engineering Professional concentration (CISSP-ISSEP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Public Accountant (inactive in PA) and PCI Professional (PCIP).
